after speaking with chris, it'd be a good idea to get an old skool server back up and running, to get things active again. well theres a few options to go for really, all depends on how much we wanna spend per month

20 slots (debranded) £23 p/mnth
32 slots (debranded) £35 p/mnth

we do get discounts on paying either every 3 months / 6 months / yearly (but obviously its alot of money to fork out in 1 go so i always prefer to pay monthly)

i would personally like to have 32 slots so that we can get as much people playing as possible.

tbh theres no point having silly mods/maps - just keep to the old skool setup:
  • 16k each round
  • basic admin plugin (kick,ban,chat etc)
  • awps limited (2 per team ?)
  • a few custom maps (multiplay has over 2000 available to choose from )
  • quakesounds ?

if we are to do this, only the people who chip in will get admin (we can give out reserved slots for sd friends only) but if any randomer wants to chip in, then all the (current) investors have to agree on it - so that its all fair and square, but just remember this can only work if we all chip in and keep chipping in

after looking into it, the best deal to do is a small dedi as theres pretty much no providers that allow more than 2 bots, cheapest which i've seen is £45 with RackSrv, its 2.2ghz dual core so we'd have the ability to have 2 servers as css only supports single core

Ubuntu 9 64 bit, one of the few Linux Os's i've used but very easy to use via web panel

this is only dual 2.4ghz but it'll still kick ass and we can just have only the css servers and nothing else as last dedi was running losts of things inc. websites databases multiple games etc etc, so for a setup like what I do at home it shouldn't be a prob

but still its £50 p/mnth and i think its best we get 5 ppl to split the cost and make it completely shared & fair then we dont need any1 else to donate as that could cause probs down the line, like he should have less or they should have more admin etc etc
