Duration: ~15mins
Affected: All on 82.136.24.0/24 and 82.136.56.0/24
Apologies for the short notice, we've literally just been informed!

Burstfire Outage Cont.
Posted by Jon Roberts
Dear Client,
I've just spoken to our account manager at Burstfire and he has updated us with the situation which is as follows;
There is a planned window for midnight this evening to carry out emergency re-splicing of a fibre between THN and SOV. Between now and this window, the third party carrying out this work were supposed to be making preparations.
It seems likely that during this preparation, a rupture in the fibre may have occurred which has resulted in a loss of connectivity. In a bizarre and unfortunate coincidence, it turns out that the backup route to SOV (which goes over THE) was also down for maintenance due to a separate incident.
Even worse news is that there is currently no firm ETA for a fix. Its very likely that due to the rupture, the maintenance planned for midnight will have been brought forward and this work will be under way now.
I once again apologise profusely, unfortunately we are totally powerless at present and can only relay information handed to us via our connectivity partner, Burstfire, when it is available.
Your patience and understanding throughout this ordeal is greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Jon Roberts, C.E.O

Burstfire Restored

Dear Client,
Our Burstfire connectivity resumed shortly after 06:15 am this morning although we have not received any form of official notification as yet.
Despite this issue being completely out of our control, I would like to reward those affected by the downtime with a complimentary token of 3 days added to your next invoice to thank you for your understanding and patience as we appreciate that Friday evening is key time for most of you!
Once again, our sincere apologies for the unscheduled disruption!
Many Thanks,
Jon Roberts, C.E.O
Although it was a pain not to have the server on friday, but at least we're compensated with 3 days free of charge :D
Who the hell is this Larry bloke? And what made him so bloody happy?
