General Forum Rules
No-one is exempt from these rules!
Being a sdc clanmember or general member does not grant immunity to any of these rules. Even the Admins & Mods aren't above them, so if you feel that you have to report a post, no matter who it has been made by, please don't be afraid to do so. We're building a community here, and we're all in the same boat, bound by the same rules. Some of us (the Admin & Mods) need to enforce these rules, but we're relying on everyone to look out for each other.
Do not take the piss.
This really shouldn't need any further explanation, but here it is: Don't argue with the Administrator or Moderators - you won't win. Don't try to bend or twist the wording of these rules to your advantage - it won't work. Don't take this as a challenge - it's not. Just be sensible, and we'll all be ok.
Be excellent to each other!
Wise words from Bill & Ted. We know that people are going to disagree with each other, and discussion is what these forums are all about, but it's important to be reasonable. This means that you have to avoid swearing, personal attacks on other members and being generally offensive. Don't spam the same message across multiple forums, and try to stay on-topic within each forum. Persistent 'Flamers' and anyone that we identify as 'Trolling' (deliberately trying to start arguments and being obnoxious) will find themselves being mocked in a schoolboy manner

.
No discussion or promotion of any illegal activities.
This means anything illegal, computer related or not. Hacking, copied software, 'warez', console modding, drugs, murder - anything. It's all a no-go on these forums, but we're not going to be draconian about it. For example, a discussion about downloaded music would be tolerated, but naming or posting links to download sites will be considered "Breaking The Rules". Also, don't post any 'adult' themed material or links. That means no pr0n! We have an over 18 section for that
Breaking The Rules - What Happens?
Hopefully, now that you've read this, you'll have a good idea of the rules, and realise that they're pretty fair, all told. Hopefully, referring people these rules will be all we have to do once someone does something wrong - they'll realise what's happened and not do it again.
Any offending posts will be edited and may be removed in extreme cases. We'll make a note of the offending user's details and they'll be issued with a warning. If this happens to you, please refer to Rules - even if you can't remember all the rules, stick by those two, and you'll do ok.
Repeat offenders and people who are marked as deliberately attempting to break these rules will be suspended and most likely banned following investigation. Being banned means that you are no longer welcome on these forums, or as part of this community, and your account will not function. IP addresses (and other factors) are tracked, so any attempt to re-register using different details will not work.
The decision of the Moderators and the Administrator in any action over misuse of these forums is final. The appropriate Forum Moderator has the right to edit, censor, delete or otherwise modify any posted message in order to uphold these rules.
